OneAquaHealth, Focus Group Workshop for the monitoring of Benevento’s urban freshwater ecosystem via citizen science.
On March 10th, 2024, the “Focus
Group Workshop” of the project “OneAquaHealth – Protecting urban
aquatic ecosystems to promote One Health” (Grant number: 101086521) has successfully
taken place in Benevento.
The event was made possible thanks to the
authorisation of the Municipality of Benevento and was the third one organized
with the city’s stakeholders, following those held on June and October 2023. The
event falls within the activities of WP4 ‘Citizen Science and Ethical
Sustainability’, whose aim is to involve citizens, policy makers and other
relevant stakeholders in environmental observations towards the development of
communities committed to ethical sustainability.
The program started at 09:00 a.m., with a first
phase outside the “Lungo Sabato Bacchelli corner – Pagliuca pedestrian
bridge”. Citizens were directly involved, discussing about the project’s
main aims. They also were invited to fill the forms with the activities duly
prepared from the partners WISE and SHINE, meant to check their impressions
about their feelings about the urban freshwater ecosystem they live in, and
gathering their opinions and thoughts concerning the possibility to use digital
tools to collect and send data about the ecosystem’s overall quality.
The second phase started at 11:30 a.m. at the
headquarter of the “BENESLAN” and “Nati per Leggere”
associations, where a meeting was then held with the Local Allies’ representatives
(Campania Region, Municipality of Benevento, IZSM, PRP Research Infrastructure
of the Bioelectronics Task Force, LIPU, WWF, Master CABEu, MoGAE, CeRVEnE,
FIPSAS Benevento, ATC Benevento), who were as well involved in the activities
organized.
